Finally a victory. I've been waiting for one of those since the middle of last January.
Here are some of my observations:
1. I wanted to vomit on the first play when the ball was fumbled.
2. First and goal from the 6 and we don't score. That's unacceptable however:
a. Chrebet catches the ball, slips down, his knee touches, the ball crosses the goal-line, and then he gets touched. They call that NO TD. During the post game on the radio, they even believed it was a TD.
b. Curtis Martis, the best non-fumbling ration in NFL history, runs up the middle, fumbles the ball as it gets knocked out of his hands, hits a Dolphin defender, and then goes into Sowell's hands for what looked like a touchdown. Unfortunately, the rule states that only the fumbler could have recovered that ball for a touchdown. The post game hosts were confused by this rule as well.
3. Chad lofting balls deep which was showing a vertical offense instead of a Hacket Horizontal offense. However, the problem was that many times, the receiver had to wait for the ball instead of Chad leading the ball.
4. Chrebet made a nice catch with Pennington throwing to a spot, Chrebet turning, and having the ball right in his hands.
5. John Abraham won back is starting job forcing a fumble, having a sack, and being the only one on defense to get some pressure on the quarterback.
6. David Barrett hauls in the game clinching interception to help make up for him getting torched all last weekend.
7. The OL didn't give up any sacks to Jason Taylor.
8. There were a few penalitites but we did NOT turn over the ball.
9. Ty Law dropped an interception right off his chest. He needs to catch those.
10. Our punter, Graham, is going to be a major weapon this year.
11. Coles is back. He redeemed himself with some catches and a nice TD after dropping two sure TDs last week.
12. I'd like to see Jolley get more involved in the offense.
13. Nugent's kickoffs were pretty weak but gotta love him booting his first career Field Goal to give us a bit more of a cushion.
14. We rebounded from the loss. We won a home game. We won a divisional game.
15. Week #1: Dolphins, Patriots, & Bills win while Jets lose. Week #2: Dolphins, Patriots, & Bills lose while Jets win. Can you say "FIRST PLACE !!!"
