York Jets Breast Cancer Awareness DayThe Greater New York City Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Davis Vision, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and the Jets Women’s Organization (JWO) present Jets Breast Cancer Awareness Day on October 9, 2005 at The Meadowlands. The event’s goal is to create public awareness and education on the issue of breast cancer and to promote the early detection steps for disease prevention. Prior to the New York Jets kickoff at 1:00 p.m. against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, JWO members and Komen Greater NYC volunteers will distribute 25,000 pink bracelets at the stadium gates and collect donations upon entry into the game. In addition, the New York Jets will donate five dollars to Komen Greater NYC for every pink hat bought during the 2005 season online or at the stadium. JWO founder, Lia Edwards and Komen Greater NYC Communications Director, Adrienne Scordato, will serve as honorary captains for the opening coin toss.
