Season Over !

Well, the magical season has come to an end. Who would have thought that we'd win 10 games this year. But, that doesn't make losing to the Patriots any easier. First of all, we were competitive until the lateral that was botched and everyone on the team just looked at the ball thinking it was dead and meanwhile, the Patriots were smart enough to pick up the ball and run towards the endzone. At that point, the game was over. We were down 10 prior and driving to keep the game close but all things went down hill afterwards. Still, you can't give the Patriots and Brady 3 long drives that each ate up at least 6 minutes of game time. Plus, Brady can not be given 20+ seconds to throw the ball. You need much more pressure to have a chance to win.
I wanted to puke watching Belechick jump up and down in his ripped sweatshirt with the hood when Chad was picked off to officially seal the game. He looked like an idiot when he wears that stupid shirt. Plus, isn't there a rule where the coach shouldn't be on the field. It seems like after every big play, he's on the playing field. Does he have special rulesd to be there?
Once the game ended, all the anticipation was for the "handshake". Belechick totally pushes the photographer out of the way and gives Mangini a 'hug'. Come one...that hug was so scarstic especially since he didn't say anything. It was all for show and a a big "F**K YOU" to all of the media that made a big deal about the handshake the last time around. I would have rather have Belechick look Mangini the the eyes, shake his hand, and wish him luck or something. The whole thing just pissed me off.
But, it was a successful year even with an "easy" schedule. Next year we are in major need of a nose tackle and some pass rush. Plus, Barton was pretty invisible this year so another linebacker to help stop the run would be great. Loved the emergence of Kerry Rhodes this year but we need some secondary help as well. As for the offense, I'd love them to pick one running back instead of not knowing who will be the RB each week. The offensive line is young and now has a year under its belt. They protected Chad decently this year but would love for them to create bigger holes for the running back. And you have to love the emergence of Mike Nugent. This guy was solid since game #1 and has been pretty automatic as of late. Still, a good season. I like the coaching staff. The offense was nice this year and I saw things that I haven't ever seen out of them. It was so much better than some of our old offenses of run, run, pass, punt. Oh well. time to focus on the Nets and Devils and hope for another good off season !
