WE WIN

They said we backed into the playoffs. They said we were the worst team left standing. They said we can't win with a rookie head coach and a rookie quarterback. "THEY" are all wrong.

We not only advanced, we SPANKED the Bengals for the 2nd straight week. And if it weren't for a dropped touchdown by Braylon Edwards, the penalties on the missed field goals, and the B.S. penalties called on the defense, the score would have been worse that 24-14.

The Jets have the #1 defense in the league. The Jets have the #1 rushing attack in the league. You can't overlook these stats and realize that Jets are not going to be an easy opponent for anyone. It's time to show the league and the Chargers that Gang Green is ready to take the next step.

Things didn't start out great falling behind 7-0 which was set up by a long kick off return putting them in a good position. But, that was quickly erased.

Sanchez was great completing 12 of 15 for 182 yards, 1 touchdown (and should have been two if Braylon didn't drop the ball), and ZERO turnovers.

Besides Sanchez, the star of the game was Jay Feely. He was forced to be our punter due to Weatherford's irregular heartbeat. After that first botched punt, he followed up by two great punts to pin the Bengals deep. For someone that never punted the ball in a game before, he did a great job and saved the season for us with his leg.

Revis Island held Ochocinco to another amazing two catches for 28 yards. Can you say "shut-down corner" ?

The only negative of the game was the defense not being able to stop Cedric Benson rushing for 169 yards. Besides that, there was no stopping the D.

Shonn Green had a great day going for 135 yards and a TD. Dustin Keller was responsible for two 40+ yard receptions and a TD.

So, the Jets get NO respect. That's fine. But, check out these stats:

1.) Sanchez was 12 for 15, 182 yards and a passer rating of 139.4, the highest ever for a rookie in the post season.

2.) Sanchez became just the 4th rookie QB in NFL history to win his post season debut, joining Shaun King ('99 Bucs), Ben Roethlisberger ('04 Steelers) and Joe Flacco ('08 Ravens). Sanchez and Flacco are the only ones to do it on the road.

3.) Jets rookie Shonn Greene carried 21 times for 135 yards and a TD. Greene's total was tied for the third highest by a rookie in his post season debut since the merger. It was also tied for the second-highest single-game total in Jets post season history.

4.) Greene was the third rookie since 2000 to rush for 100 yards in a playoff game.

5.) The Jets were the 2nd team in history (last time was 1933) where a Rookie passed for a TD and a rookie ran for a TD.

BRING ON THE CHARGERS !
